Qa and Ta

The SeaFlux Version 1 near-surface temperature and humidity is derived from the SSM/I satellites. The retrieval technique is described in Roberts et al. (2010). The data is available globally over water (no ice or land) every three hours from January 1, 1998 to December 31, 2007.

Available Data:

Near-Surface Temperature – The near-surface temperature (Ta) is calculated using a neural network algorithm based on Roberts et al. (2010) and explained in more depth in the Definitions & Algorithms section. The near-surface temperature is valid at 10m. Units: °C

Near-Surface Specific Humidity -The near-surface specific humidity (Qa) is calculated using a neural network algorithm based on Roberts et al. (2010) and explained in more depth in the Definitions & Algorithms section. The near-surface temperature is valid at 10m. Units: g/kg
